Job Opening: Senior Editor

Qualifications & Skills:
- A minimum of 8 years of editing experience for leading digital-first outlets
- A proven track record of editing major breaking news; superior news judgment; and the ability to deliver in a highly pressurized, deadline-driven environment
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- The ability to deftly coordinate daily news assignments and the flow of information to deliver smart, accessible stories across platforms
- Able to think in headlines and smart framings, while considering the intended audience
- Heightened ability to identify news as it breaks – be it through sources, Dataminr, news wires, etc – and pivot accordingly
- Experience in managing others, setting editorial priorities, and coordinating between teams and across time zones
- A passion for news; and a deep knowledge of US national affairs preferred
- College degree or equivalent industry experience
- Perfect grasp of written and spoken English
- Enthusiasm, flexibility, and a desire to foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment
