Studio: Silk Factory Ltd
Job Opening: Trainee Film Trailer Editor
Location: London, United Kingdom
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities: As a Trainee Editor your day-to-day tasks will include, but are not limited to:
- Downloading, importing, and checking new assets.
- Setting up and organizing new projects within Avid.
- Communicating regularly with the editors, producers, and designers.
- Creating viewing links for clients and producers.
- Managing the shared drive system and backing up old projects.
- Working with established offline editors to develop your skills and knowledge via creative direction, ongoing feedback and structured mentorship.
HOW TO APPLY:
- We want to see your talent, so please cut us a film trailer (ideally on Avid Media Composer).
- The process: Pick a film of your choice, cut a trailer, and send it via WeTransfer with a PDF of your timeline and your CV. Please include the WeTransfer link on your CV.
- The brief is very simple; cut a trailer no longer than 2 minutes, paying close attention to creating an engaging narrative. Think about interesting music and sound design choices that enhance and elevate your trailer.
- Whilst we leave the choice of film to you, it’s probably best to avoid cutting a trailer to any of the current big franchise series of films. Be bolder, and more interesting. This is your chance to shine and show us you deserve a position here at Silk Factory.
- Finally with your application, tell us your thought process behind your trailer, how you approached it and why.
Apply for the Job Online: To apply, send your CV, trailer, and cover letter to jobs@thesilkfactory.com with your name and TRAINEE EDITOR in the subject
Note: Only applications sent with both a trailer and CV will be considered.
