Job Opening: FX Team Lead
Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam

Responsibilities:
Project Management, Technical Expertise & Quality Control
- Design and create and/or the creation of high-quality visual effects, including simulations, dynamics, and particle systems.
- Coordinates with the other departments to ensure seamless integration of FX elements.
- Oversee the creation of high-quality visual effects, including simulations for particles, fluids, and dynamics.
- Ensure all FX work meets the studio’s standards for aesthetic quality and technical accuracy, often exploring different approaches and looks/
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions.
- Helps develop and explore new ways to enhance results.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Participates in the creation and submission of job bids.
- Ensure projects are completed on time.
- Work closely with the Pipeline team to resolve any issues.
Leadership and Team Management
- Lead and mentor the FX team, ensuring the highest quality of work.
- Assisting with training and mentorship of FX artists, helping them develop their skills and grow professionally.
- Foster a collaborative and creative work environment.
- Conduct regular team meetings and provide constructive feedback.
- Training new hires in department standards, workflow, and techniques.
- Guiding and mentoring artists in advancing their work towards asset/shot approval.
- Work well with team members in an advisory role and can show them processes and troubleshooting.
- Following the artist’s work to make sure they address the notes and respect the briefs and deadlines.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Several years (+4) experience in the FX department, with knowledge and experience in creating a variety of different types of FX.
- Will have specialist knowledge of a particular area in FX such as crowds, costumes, hair/fur/feathers, fire, water, destruction, etc.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Houdini, Maya, or similar tools.
- Solid understanding of VFX/3D production pipelines
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with proven experience to tackle and solve particularly complex tasks in an efficient manner.
- Understanding physics, realistic motion, and assorted natural phenomena on different scales.
- Exceptional technical skills, the ability to learn new software quickly, and a keenness to stay on the leading edge.
- Strong willingness to grow, learn new methods, and share knowledge with others.
- Ability to work and solve technical issues independently.
- Ability to take direction positively, work well within a team, and thrive under the pressure of tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and an open mind
- Team player able to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
- Compositing and scripting experience is a plus.
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage a team of FX artists, to meet production timetables.
- Excellent artistic eye for detail, excellent sense of timing and scale. Can give precise and constructive criticism/feedback.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills particularly when under pressure and the ability to anticipate and solve issues and conflicts. Ability to manage and mentor a team.
- A portfolio/reel showcasing a diverse range of FX work and demonstrating both technical expertise and artistic sensibility.
