Job Opening: Lead Game Artist
Location: Montreal, Canada
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Lead the game art for one or more game teams, managing multiple games, across all phases of production.
- Work closely with the Game Producer to refine the game specifications and Game Design Document (GDD).
- Create backgrounds, characters, symbols, UI’s, and logos of our slot games, from sketch to final version renders.
- Track all art tasks and deliverables for a game to make sure it’s delivered on time per our game pipeline schedule and milestone deliveries.
- Work closely with the Game Producer, Art Director, and Developers to ensure the final game art/look is produced according to the agreed vision.
- Set and share best practices, tools, production pipelines, and workflows within the game team.
- Follows the game development, tests the game to make sure all the art assets are implemented according to the design specifications.
- Supervise all marketing assets delivered by the game team, including product media packs and any other marketing materials.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Provide feedback to the company’s creative team.
- Perform other tasks as required.
Experience & Skills:
- 3+ years as a professional slot game artist
- BA/BS in fine art, illustration, graphic design, or equivalent working experience
- Strong track record of leading slot game art with the successful production of impactful slot games
- Understanding online casino game art, with a focus on optimizing games for all platforms, both regarding file size and performance
- Ability to adapt different art styles in doing characters, backgrounds, and symbols design
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
- Good knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
- Experience in motion design software, such as Spine 2D and After Effects
- Strong understanding of typography
- Research, play, and study casino games to stay up-to-date with market trends and competition
- Highly organized, experienced in running multiple projects and delivering to tight deadlines
- Experience working with project tracking tools such as JIRA
- Strong English is written and verbal communication skills
- Leadership attitude and not afraid to get your hands dirty
- Excellent teamwork skills and ability to adapt
