Job Opening: Mid/Senior Houdini Generalist
Location: Hamburg, Germany
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- As part of our 3D team, you will work closely with experienced colleagues from all areas of production, from the first creative idea to the finished film, on projects for customers and brands worldwide.
- You have varied tasks, a lot of creative freedom in the team and the freedom to try out new things with short coordination channels. You can develop personally and professionally and your know-how is in demand in the team.
- You work in a hybrid model: with up to 50% home office work and a place next to your colleagues in the Hamburg office.
- Development of high-quality looks in Marmalade quality and rendering in close collaboration with the compositing department.
- Refinement of previs geometries as well as texturing, shading, and lighting.
- Ideally, you have experience with pre comps in Nuke.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years of professional experience in the commercial sector as a generalist.
- Technical understanding and confident use of Houdini and the Adobe Suite (especially Photoshop, AE), experience with Redshift and a good understanding of all common VFX production pipelines.
- Interested in developments in the field of AI for your area of responsibility (and beyond).
- PreComp skills in Nuke and Blender, knowledge of Python, USD/Solaris, and experience rendering with Karma (XPU) are a big plus.
- Creativity, a feeling for the camera, design, and framing, attention to detail, and the motivation to constantly develop your design and technical skills.
- An organized and structured way of working and the ability to keep track of complex setups.
- The ability to implement self-organized briefings in close coordination with the customer, agency or in-house creation as well as the ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high quality standards and to carry out creative and technical troubleshooting.
- Ability to work in a team, very good communication skills and good language skills in German and English.
