Job Opening: 3D Animation Supervisor
Location: Milan, Italy
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Define and validate the animation of the key characters and the animation bibles of the series with the director and the animation team
- Collaborate directly with the production team and department supervisors, including the TD Pipeline, FX Supervisor, CG SUP and the rest of the team to ensure that the technical aspects of the animation produce the quality provided by the director
- Understanding and translating the director’s and producer’s brief, and make sure it is understood by the animation team
- Direct, supervise, and review the work of the animators and ensure that the quality of the animation is maintained throughout the production
- Give animation notes scene per scene for each episode
- Review the facilitation passages of the internal and external teams, draw up the notes and answer the questions, with the aim of bringing animation to the desired quality standard.
- Work closely with the director to understand the general fiction and the tone of the program
- work closely with the animation teams to improve each delivery and reduce the number of retakes during production
Qualifications & Skills:
- At least 2 years experience in a similar position on an animated series or feature films
- Proactivity in team recruitment
- The ability to manage a team, supervise the performances, put in place a strategy to optimize the productivity of the team
- The ability to analyze organic movement, weight and fluidity
- Excellent knowledge of traditional animation techniques and principles of character movement
- Knowledge of 3D Maya animation production pipelines and technical constraints
- Knowledge of character rigging
- The ability to anticipate, communicate and troubleshoot technical issues with Production
- Provide solutions to creative briefs through existing tools & processes
- Willing to learn, and contribute to the success of the team and project with the ability to listen and be open to all feedback given
