Job Opening: Senior Environment Artist
Location: Bellevue, Washington State
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Concept Art to create dynamic environments which are engaging and unique within our new IP.
- Work side by side with Level Design to identify gap areas in Level Design needs and create prototype assets to facilitate their work.
- Use your understanding of the art style and previously created concept art to make a new world.
- Build final assets ranging from architecture and hero props to foliage and tiling materials.
- Implement game-ready assets in UE5 while being mindful of performance.
- Create vignettes to demonstrate proper asset use cases for internal and external developers.
- Provide feedback to External Development as needed. This role will provide feedback to External Development, but External Development is not the focus of the job.
- Playtest builds and give notes on the game as a whole.
Qualifications & Skills:
- You are an extraordinary Environment Artist with a portfolio which reflects a deep passion and mastery in your craft.
- You specialize in appealing Stylized Environment Art which is beautiful, practical, and performant.
- Your portfolio reflects your experience and love for creating new worlds.
- You place a high value on collaboration and open communication to create a space where everyone feels that they are respected and working together towards a common goal.
- You are well-versed in modern tools and techniques for creating modular, optimized game-ready content.
- You have experience in Unreal Engine 4/5.
- You have a portfolio which demonstrates your mastery of stylized Environment Art.
- You have 3+ years as an Environment Artist in AAA games or equivalent.
- You demonstrate strong communication skills.
- You have shipped a AAA game or have equivalent experience.
- You have extensive and comprehensive knowledge of Maya or another industry standard modeling software package.
- Strong understanding of Unreal Engine.
Preferred Skills:
- Zbrush skills are preferred.
- Substance Painter / Designer skills are preferred.
- Unreal Engine Blueprint fluency is a plus.
- Unreal Engine 5 experience is a plus.
