Job Opening: Unreal Engineer
Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Develop gameplay elements and work with designers to bring the mechanics to life
- Develop artist-facing tools/scripts to help automate their repetitive tasks
- Responsible for development of the back-end solutions for our games, including but not limited to the platform services, game servers, AI, multiplayer, analytics, core-tech
- Follow code standards and workflows to enforce consistently clean, professional, and maintainable code
- Test the game and make amendments to enhance its capabilities
- Work with team members in a collaborative environment
Qualifications & Skills:
- More than 2 years of experience in the AAA game industry
- Shipped at least one title
- Have worked on the project from start and taken it to finish line
- Have entered a project midway and taken it to finish line
- Passionate gamer and love games as an art form and a form of entertainment
- Knows the video game and gamer culture
- General Engineering
- Communication skills to understand requirements
- Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems
- Math and physics skills, including calculus, trigonometry, laws of motion, etc.
- A strong logic and aptitude-based approach to programming
- Solid C/C++ programming skills. C#/JS/PY is good to have.
- Proficient knowledge of code versioning tools such as Git, Perforce, SVN, etc.
- Agile and Scrum development methodologies
- Game Specific
- Excellent knowledge of Unreal Engine
- Familiarity with level design and video games in general
- Knowledge of game physics, mechanics, and game dev-specific complexities
- Optimizing game code for performance
- Strong understanding of 3D modeling / texturing work-flows for game engines
- Rendering and GPU pipeline (Shaders, CG, HLSL)
- Developing back-end solutions for games, including integrating various servers and their databases
