Job Opening: Vegetation Artist
Location: Galway, Ireland
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Create high-quality 3D foliage assets, ensuring proper integration while considering technical and gameplay requirements for different biomes
- Collaborate closely with the Art Director, Lead Artist and Concept Artists to define all foliage needs while following the project art style
- Collecting references, plan foliage assets and collaborating with producers to be able to schedule milestones
- Actively seek feedback from Lead Artist and Art Director to continuously improve and maintain high-quality standards
- Work with Technical Artists to define and implement procedural rules and guidelines as well as creating and maintaining foliage documentation
- Creation of sets of vegetation and integration into the levels
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in AAA game development, modeling, and texturing
- Extensive knowledge of Speedtree, Zbrush, Photoshop, Substance Painter and Baking Tools
- Strong understanding of Speedtree and other relevant software packages such as Substance and Photoshop
- Environment composition skills within UE 4 or 5
- In-depth knowledge of real-time pipelines and technical requirements
- Ability to work creatively and proactive as part of a large or small group
- Excellent communication and ability to identify and report issues
- Knowledge about procedural implementation of vegetation
- Good understanding of forms, shapes, and silhouettes
What is nice to have:
- Advanced knowledge of procedural vegetation creation
- Experience with Houdini is a plus
- Experience in creating art documentation
