Job Opening: Art Director
Location: Burlingame, CA | Remote, US
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the complete creative process of one or more projects, combining technical and artistic skills. This includes developing proposals, presenting pitches, creating innovative ideas, building prototypes, and implementing, either alone or as part of a team.
- Produce and provide top-notch optimized materials such as 3D models, concept art, and motion-related assets for real-time environments and can design, prototype, and build larger visual systems, individually and with a broader team.
- Oversee the entire creative process setting the creative vision for the project and ensuring that the outcome meets specific quality standards and objectives and is executed successfully.
- Confidently communicate project direction and strategy to internal partners while providing expert guidance on technical constraints and innovative concepts.
- Anticipate problems that may put a project at risk and implement alternative creative solutions.
- Can guide internal partners through creative concepting.
- Resilience under pressure and against deadlines.
- Technically sophisticated. Can work closely with researchers and engineers while acting as a liaison between project stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven artistic sensibilities. Can make beautiful work and guide others in doing so.
- Has experience in designing, prototyping, and constructing visual/motion systems, both independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Experience providing direction and vision to internal XFN partners and stakeholders.
- Expertise with 3D tools such as Blender, Maya, Houdini, Unity, Unreal, Spark AR, etc.
- Experience creating AR/VR, mobile apps, and interactive installations.
- Familiarity with Spark AR and Unity.
- Extensive experience interacting and pitching to high-level executives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in AAA games, VFX, film or other comparable industries.
- May have experience with procedural artwork generation.
