Job Opening: VFX Animators
Location: Bristol, England, UK
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the Animation Lead/Supervisor to produce high-quality realistic animation of creatures, characters and rigid bodies
- Working closely with the Rigging and Pipeline departments providing suggestions and feedback to improve setup, visual quality, rigs and tool functionality
- Animating both primary and secondary characters and elements
- Responsible for maintaining or exceeding a consistent level of productivity while meeting deadlines and producing high quality work and having ongoing communication with Production and Lead regarding schedules and deadlines
- Collaborate as a team member in determining various aesthetic solutions; submitting shots for review and follow through with notes and provide feedback if/when required to other members of the production by attending dailies on a regular basis.
- Continuing to become familiar with new tools, software, data and other related technology
Qualifications & Skills:
- Expert knowledge of traditional animation principles, acting, film production and compositional design while demonstrating exceptional skills as an animator based as evidenced by portfolio, demo reel and references.
- Understanding of UNIX and shell scripting; expert knowledge of Maya, proprietary and other software programs.
- Understanding of chaining and constraint techniques.
- Understanding of both the CG production pipeline and the other production processes at Axis.
- Good communication skill and ability to work interactively with production and other departments to solve production challenges
- Adaptability and the willingness to learn new processes and technical skills
- Must be open to direction and be able to embrace change
- Demonstrate examples of animating realistic creatures/characters in a professional studio environment
- Strong understanding of the principles of animation, with a keen eye for character pose and staging
- Excellent organisation and communication skills.
