Job Opening: Line Producer – Feature Film
Location: Los Angeles, California, US
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Customize, maintain, and oversee the production schedule and microschedules from pre-production through final delivery
- Partner with the Finance and Production Accounting departments regularly to maintain and update the budget and monthly cost reports; communicate updates to Netflix teams
- Provide risk assessment and measure production trends against the current schedule and budget; anticipate potential speed-ups / slow-downs in the schedule
- Build a diverse and inclusive crew in partnership with Talent Acquisition; providing staffing projections, defining roles, and developing strategies for search, outreach, interviews, and negotiations
- Partner with Business and Legal Affairs to initiate agreements as needed for writers, casting directors, voice directors, recording studios, and production companies
- Partner with creative and technical teams to ensure the film’s creative, practical, and pipeline goals can be executed and delivered
- Assess, manage, and communicate production schedules and complexities with the internal crew, Netflix teams, and external partner studios
- Manage and mentor the Production Staff by creating environments where team members are treated fairly and respectfully, are valued for their talent and perspective, and are given the opportunity to do work that is purposeful and impactful; guide their overall professional development, provide feedback, and resolve performance management issues
- Oversees the distribution and timelines of front-end production assignments
- Support departments with problem-solving, anticipating needs and concerns, and providing solutions
- Facilitate communication with the crew, show leadership, and Netflix teams through weekly progress reports
- Lead communication with external partner studios
- Take part in storyboard pitches, animatic reviews, casting, auditions, recording sessions, asset reviews, shot reviews, spotting sessions, mixes, and onlines as needed
- Some travel as needed
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience as a Line Producer or 3+ years experience as a Production Manager on CG feature films or related experience
- Expert understanding of animation pipelines from pre-production through post-production
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; providing candid, helpful, tactful, and timely feedback to colleagues
- Ability to lead with a positive attitude and encourage collaboration
- Comfort level working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment with the ability to manage time and balance priorities
- Experience in working with external partner studios preferred
- Experience in Google Suite (preferred) and/or Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of asset and shot tracking systems, preferably ShotGrid
