Job Opening: 3D Character Artist

Location: Taipei, Taiwan / Hybrid Remote

Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

  • Create realistic Characters and Creature assets together with a team of animators and technical art team
  • Efficiently model assets that fit within the style of the game
  • Together with the technical art team ensure proper integration of the characters in game engine
  • Help to flesh out concepts and bring them to the final game asset
  • Extensive experience in AAA game development and at least 1 commercially released title.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry-standard 3D, ZBrush, Maya, Substance Painter and Marvelous Designer, Photoshop, etc.
  • Experience of working with Unreal Engine.
  • A passion for AAA video games, ideally FPS, Action Based and ARPGs

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Exceptional understanding of next-gen asset creation workflows with the ability to improve them, then optimize as required for final product
  • A keen sense of proportion and a good understanding of human anatomy
  • Ability to create highly realistic characters that meet AAA standards
  • In-depth understanding and practical experience of high-end character modelling, sculpting and PBR materials
  • Good understanding of real-time hair creation
  • Good understanding of game topology, including edge flow and correct mesh creation for animation
  • At least one complete example of a real-time realistic character, including fully realised skin, hair and cloth
  • A very good texturing skills using Substance Painter or similar software
  • 5+ years of experience in game development, interpreting concepts, modelling and texturing assets
  • Being used to work on tasks autonomously and to deliver results in time
  • Good communication skills, keeping stakeholders up to date with your progress and any potential issues that may arise throughout production.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standard pipelines and workflows, asset exporting process
  • Software experiences such as 3ds Max, Maya, Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Marvelous Designer, and Unreal Engine 4(5)
