Job Opening: Senior FX Artist
Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada / Remote
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- The Senior FX TD is responsible for creating realistic and stylized effects from the initial concept through to the final rendering.
- These effects will range from liquid and smoke simulations to abstract particle and procedural geometry effects.
- They will guide junior artists on technique and workflow best practices and assist production in answering questions related to the upcoming impact work.
- The Senior FX TD will work cooperatively with other 2D and 3D departments to determine what effects elements are needed for a given shot and will help create a schedule for delivering those elements.
- Providing high-quality effects elements on time with minimal supervision is essential.
Qualifications & Skills:
- At least four years of experience as an FX Artist
- Expertise in Maya / Houdini, Real Flow V- Ray
- Experience guiding Junior FX Artists
- Ability to work smoothly as a part of a team
- A high level of Houdini experience is required. Working knowledge of Nuke, Maya, and Python is preferred.
