Job Opening: Character Riggers
Location: Remote
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Director(s), CG Supervisor and Rigging and Modelling Leads to create and maintain character rigs for production
- Develop rigs and techniques to meet the requirements in terms of range of motion required and feature sets that meet client and internal quality expectations
- Review Character Models and flag potential problems and solutions
- Work closely with modelling department to create edge flows and retopology that meets the rigging technical requirements
- Implement creative and technical feedback as required
- Participate in creative and technical reviews as required
- Balance quick turnarounds with achieving a high degree of aesthetic quality
- Communicate production concerns ahead of time with Supervisor(s) and Production Team
- Create tools and scripts to increase efficiency in the department
- Track tasks and meet production deadlines
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in rigging
- Strong knowledge of rigging techniques
- Strong knowledge of animation requirements
- High level knowledge of rigging in Maya
- Experience with Shotgun
- Task driven, self-motivated, and proactive
- Solid comprehension of mathematics
- Knowledge of Python a plus
- Ability to perform duties whilst being aware of deadlines
- Good communication skill and ability to work interactively with production and other departments to solve production challenges
