Job Opening: Storyboard Artist
Location: Los Angeles, California, United States
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Visualize the script / story outline with drawings to tell a story cinematically: Staging scenes, composing shots, and posing out acting for a show with comedy, heart and action. The storyboard artist will need to rough out the visuals first, then finish with tighter drawings and deliver as an animatic.
- Meet with creative execs, directors and animation team to discuss objectives of storyboard for each episode as assigned. Take direction from director(s) regarding translation of script to storyboard
- Raise & discuss any creative challenges with the producer and department leads
- Delivery of storyboard per production schedule set by the producer. Communicate with production regarding any flags to deadlines and deliveries
- Ensure quality and style of show is consistently achieved in storyboard work
- Editing boards into an animatic for work in progress reviews and final delivery
- Organizing Storyboard Pro files to series standards
- Noting and labeling storyboards for production
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous storyboard or animation experience required. Experience with children’s and/or preschool entertainment is preferred.
- Ability to draw in the style of production
- Strong staging and composition skills
- Experience boarding to musical timing, not just script/story
- Storyboard Pro experience
- Strong time-management skills
- Ability to take direction
- Work well under pressure
- Ability to multitask a plus
