Job Opening: Motion Design Full-Time Faculty
Location: Sarasota, Florida, USA
Type: Full-Time
Qualifications & Skills:
- Either a Master’s degree in Motion Design, Visual Effects, Animation, or a related field, OR a 4-year professional degree in art or design and five years of significant experience animating and compositing visual effects for the motion design, broadcast, or filmmaking industry that demonstrates expertise appropriate for teaching across a menu of MD courses that include such topics as composting, advanced 3D animation and rendering, and, visual effects for motion design.
- Proficiency with current software products relevant to the area with Nuke, Cinema 4D, After Effects, Premiere.
- Proficiency in digital technology and hands-on knowledge and experience relevant to the industry including on-set production, digital cameras, and lighting for green screens.
- Strong knowledge of current industry standards for design, production, workflow, and professional practice in the field.
- An ability to clearly communicate and work effectively with faculty, students, and administrators.
- Willingness to work in a collaborative educational environment.
Preferred Qualification:
- An MFA or other terminal degree or its equivalent in an appropriate discipline.
- A background in visual effects for motion design, broadcast, or film.
- Knowledge of scripting/programming for visual effects and animation.
- Knowledge of Houdini or Unreal Engine.
- Strong graphic design and animation skills.
- Successful college-level teaching.
