Job Opening: 3D Generalist (Mobile Game Industry)

Responsibilities:

  • Create visually stunning and optimized 3D assets for mobile games, including characters, mechs, environments, props, and creatures.
  • Collaborate with the design and art teams to conceptualize and execute the artistic vision of our games.
  • Ensure that all 3D assets are optimized for mobile platforms, considering performance and memory limitations.
  • Use industry-standard software (such as Maya, 3ds Max, ZBrush, Blender, Marmoset toolbag and Substance Painter) to model and texture 3D assets.
  • Create stylized textures and materials that enhance the visual quality of the game.
  • Work closely with the development team to integrate 3D assets into the game engine, ensuring proper functionality and visual fidelity.
  • Maintain consistent art style and quality throughout the game, adhering to established guidelines and specifications.
  • Collaborate with other artists, animators, and designers to ensure seamless integration of 3D assets into the game.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in 3D art and mobile game development, and share knowledge with the team.
  • Assist in problem-solving and provide creative solutions to overcome technical and artistic challenges.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in creating high-quality 3D assets for games. Solid understanding of mobile game development pipelines and limitations.
  • Proficient in industry-standard 3D modeling, texturing, and animation software (such as Maya, 3ds Max, ZBrush, Blender, Marmoset toolbag and Substance Painter).
  • Knowledge of optimization techniques for mobile platforms, including polygon budgeting, texture compression, and LODs (Level of Detail).
  • Experience in creating stylized textures and materials using software like Substance Painter or Photoshop.
  • Familiarity with game engines (such as Unity or Unreal Engine) and the ability to integrate 3D assets into the engine.
  • Strong artistic and design skills, with an eye for detail, color, composition, and lighting.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to adapt to different art styles and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for mobile games and a strong understanding of their visual and technical requirements.
