Job Opening: 3D FX Artist
Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other team members and departments, creating tools and workflows with a sharp style aesthetic
- Communicating with Animation and Lighting departments to ensure a smooth workflow
- Research and implement dynamic solutions for various FX request
- Balance feature-quality work with the demand of a TV Series schedule
- Respond to guidance from the director as well as other creative and technical supervisors
- Research and recommend pipeline techniques or workflows to improve FX productivity
- Able to document, mentor, and communicate standards and techniques.
- Able to assess and plan to meet production deadlines
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong understanding of CG production tools and workflows
- 3+ years of experience as an FX artist in the CG industry. TD Experience a bonus!
- Able to work in Maya, Houdini, Linux, and Shotgun. Additional skills like Python a definite plus
- Demonstrated ability to understand and analyze production procedures with a non-traditional approach to problem-solving
- Eligible to work in Alberta
