Job Opening: 3D Character Artist
Location: Remote
Type: 6 Months Contract
Responsibilities:
- Create high-quality 3D character models in line with artistic direction and concept art.
- Rig characters and implement them in Unity.
- Assist with the production and implementation of blend shapes, special rig types and additional 2D elements for special characters.
- Collaborate closely with the Art Team, Game Designers, and Programmers to support characters interacting with the player, other characters and the environment.
- Work closely with production to plan tasks and milestones and continually improve the character creation process.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong understanding of character modelling and rigging, with a great understanding of topology, humanoid and non-humanoid rigs, weight painting and blend shapes.
- Great experience in modern 3D art software (Blender, Maya, Substance Painter, etc).
- Experience with Unity’s animation pipeline, ideally with their Animation Rigging package, Humanoid IK systems and Timeline.
- 3+ years of professional experience within the game industry or animation industry.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Knowledge of Unity’s materials and shaders, specifically for character rendering.
