Job Opening: 2D Game Animator

Studio: Pismo

Job Type: Remote

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work under the director to create key poses, rough keyframes, in-betweens, and clean-up animations.
  • The perspective of the game is a top-down, three-quarter view.
  • The characters are limited to 8 directions of animation.
  • Each action generally has anywhere between 3 to 12 frames of animation.
  • The characters will be rendered in 3-5 values, in which you will be responsible for breaking up the value shapes with line work.
  • Character pieces parts will need to be drawn on separate layers and be drawn together in-game.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proficiency in Toon Boom Harmony
  • High quality draftmanship and fundamental animation abilities.
  • High proficiency of edge and shape for value separation.
  • Strong understanding of the human figure and drapery.
  • Photoshop proficiency.
  • Familiar working with 2D game sprites.
  • Experience working in game development is preferred.
  • Basic use of Blender for 3D will be useful.

Note: This is a part time freelance job with the possibility of increasing the weekly hourly limit.
