Job Opening: 2D Artist/Animator
Location: Melbourne, Australia
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Develop from concept to game-ready assets (including props, UI, and background assets) according to feature design requirements
- Match the game’s existing art style in all deliverables
- Work within the art pipeline to implement art assets in Unity
- Use tweening and foundational 2D animation skills to concept & create animations in Unity for 2D elements in Kinder World (e.g. UI, plants, environment elements, non-human characters etc.)
- Share knowledge to fellow artists to guide asset creation needs for animation
- Occasionally collaborate with the Marketing team for content creation
- Contribute to developing workflows for animation
Qualifications & Skills:
- Portfolio/samples demonstrating ability to match the game’s art style
- Portfolio/demo reel/samples showing experience with dynamic object/UI animation
- Experience with creating art in a game environment, with mobile game experience strongly preferred
- Experience in implementing animation (primarily object/UI animation) in a game environment, with shipped or mobile game experience strongly preferred
- Clear, professional, and compassionate communicator
- Strong interest in creative & technical problem solving
- Flexibility and ability to pivot
- Has a collaborative mindset & is eager to work together with teammates to deliver ideas
- Understands that game production is iterative in nature, and the value of ‘good-enough’ work over ‘perfected’ work which is delayed
- An interest in storytelling and evoking emotion through art
- Genuine care and interest in our team values and target audience
Role-specific skills:
- Foundational 2D art skills
- Foundational 2D animation skills
- Experience in Unity is strongly preferable
